The Board of Bay Area Soccer League hopes this communication finds you and your families well. We would like to begin by saying, we are sorry for the losses that families are experiencing and we are thankful for all of the frontline responders and care givers that are helping people. We also proud to be Americans and watching how this country is pulling together to help and support each other.
US Youth Soccer, through Ohio North, which governs our BASL Rec Soccer program, is suspending all soccer activities; affiliated activities include scheduled games, team practice/training sessions, or sponsored activities that are under direct supervision of a team official; or sanctioned local or national tournaments as a member of a contestant team, through May 1, 2020 to align with Governor DeWine’s current orders. We and the leagues are reevaluating the return-to-play date based on decisions and/or recommendations and guidance from our national, state, local and governing bodies.
The current guidance for our BASL Rec Soccer League for the Spring 2020 would be to play a modified season beginning around the end of May and playing until late June. Our partner at Erie Metro Parks and Osborne Park have made adjustments to the field use schedule so that we can play later than in previous years.

We recognize that many are anxious to get back onto the soccer fields; however, the main priority is the safety and well-being of everyone. When we resume play, we hope that all will pull together and support one another.
